Somos Blanquito 2021

Arneis dominant, this white is true to Italy's Piedmont style - fuller bodied, oilier, riper fruit with apricot and yellow nectarine. Finishes on tongue with a cleaning acidity and maybe salty edge. Minimal intervention style. With food or not, it's for those who like fuller whites. 

'Somos means 'we are ", and in essence, Somos is what we are and what we like to make and drink. It was born out of making wines that we wanted to experiment with and that had interest, and most of all, were very drinkable. It is our small contribution to the Australian wine revolution.We make alternative varieties that are well adapted to this part of the world, but that also have the unique expression from McLaren Vale's highly varied soils. Made in a minimal intervention style, these wines see partial whole bunch fermentation, foot treadding and most of them are pressed early to keep them fresh and vibrant. The wines reflect us, young and juicy! Somos is the side label of our label Juguette (meaning Toy): made by Australian-Mexican duo, Ben Caldwell and Mauricio Ruiz Cantú, we have been changing the face of Australian wine in Mexico since 2013, hand crafting small batch expressions of traditional Australian classics and making Australian styled wines from Mexican fruit in Baja California. It's a great excuse to visit Mexico every year.
