Based in Miranda, our hub The Farmer Collective allows us to showcase the amazing grass fed free range produce NSW farmers have to offer including our own pasture raised lamb, beef and eggs. Our goal is to provide hormone and antibiotic free, healthy meat to all lovers of quality produce.
Shop NowSome might call us ‘new school’ farmers but like many of you we believe that animals brought up on grass, in an environment free of stress and harmful chemicals is the way to go. The Farmer Collective will never use growth hormones or antibiotics, just as nature intended. By working with farmers that share our beliefs, who concentrate on producing quality, nutrient rich pastures and practice stress free animal management – you can be assured the produce you purchase is of the highest quality.
Take our word for it, there's no middle man, produce straight from 'Farmgate to Plate'.
BASED ON A SMALL BUT PRODUCTIVE 230 ACRES, FARMGATE TO PLATE IS HOME TO 2 FLOCKS OF BREEDING DORPER EWES, A MIXED HERD OF CATTLE; INCLUDING HIGH MARBLING GRASS FED BLACK WAGYU + AN EVER GROWING FLOCK OF FREE RANGE, PASTURED CHOOKS.
Our main farmers Paul and Nathan have been working together for over a decade and in 2013 a joint passion for farming saw them invest in a property, in the Upper Lachlan Shire in country NSW. With the common desire to make quality produce accessible at affordable prices they joined with the goal to create the perfect recipe for food, by focusing on the entire journey from farmgate to plate.

We literally started from the ground up, by improving the pastures and hand selecting stock from like-minded, reputable breeders. Then we focused on using biodynamic techniques to create nutrient rich pastures including rotational grazing, utilising natural fertilisers (from the free range chooks) and eliminating the use of herbicides and pesticides. This has allowed us to raise stress free animals ensuring you are provided with the best quality grass fed and finished produce. We hope you will be pleased to feature this on your family dinner table knowing exactly where your food has come from and the journey it has taken to reach you.
It’s been a lot of hard work and not without lessons but we know that we have picked the perfect place to start this journey! We have built an amazing network of suppliers and supporters – from our knowledgable and trustworthy neighbours and awesome local Crookwell community, to like-minded farmers and our family and friends.
“With big dreams and common goals, they joined with the goal to create more than just food but the perfect recipe for food.”
As we mentioned Paul and Nathan are no stranger to working together, with a joint background in building and joinery. They are similar in many ways, with a ‘go big or go home’ mentality and are no stranger to hands-on hard work.
Paul, his wife Heidi and their 5 children have been living ‘the country life’ on 100 acres just outside of Sydney since 2005. This tree-change was inspired by a desire to provide a place for their family to flourish and they have taken every advantage that this change has created. They have filled this 100 acres with everything from home grown veggies to every animal imaginable – including Peacocks, goats, horses, cows, chickens, birds, alpacas, reptiles, cats and dogs to name but a few. We are also lucky to have Heidi around, as her business The Hobby Farm, hand raises any orphaned lambs that we may find.
Nathan lives in South Sydney with his wife Kate and they have always been interested in where their food comes from. Nathan has always had a passion for animals and some of his fondest childhood memories are of running around his grandfathers farm in Berry, where his family broke in horses and grew pumpkins. Although the family farm was sold when Nathan was a teenager, he has always dreamed of having a property of his own where he could manage every process involved in farming food on a larger scale.
